Posted on Tuesday, October 14 @ 13:47:30 EDT by mysterindia

Official Government Notices mysterdelhi writes "
The Union minister of state for finance, Shripad Naik has said that the Charter Act will be amended to help Non Resident Indians and Foreign travellers to fly down to Goa directly by availing of chartered flights. Mr. Naik madet his announcement at the three-day Goa tourism meet. The meet which concluded on Wednesday, was aimed at promoting Goa as a global tourist destination.

Mr. Naik said 12 destinations in the country were already included in the Act but Goa somehow got excluded. the amendment would ensure that NRIs could fly to Goa on chartered flights. While the measure would help lakhs of Non Resident Goans to fly directly into Goa, it would also imply more foreign tourists coming to th state. Besides, these flights would be less expensive.
