Mumbai : Bharti, owners of Airtel, on Friday introduced a Rs 999 lifetime pre-paid card which enables subscribers to continue to recieve calls without recharging for a period of six months.

           

Although the card is called lifetime, if the subscriber does not recieve or make calls or if he doesn't recharge within a period of six months from activation, he will be considered dead and his connection disconnected.

            Airtel is not the first service provider to launch this a service.Tata Teleservices, Reliance Infocomm and Hutch offer their subscribers months of validity without recharging.

            While Tata Teleservices offers its subscribers a two years incoming connection without recharging and a handset for Rs 2000, Reliance Infocomm provides a similar service over three years.

              Similarly, Hutch, which is Airtel's biggest competitor, has also launched a similar service.
