Mumbai : In a bid to cater to the huge rush of passengers during the summer vacations, the Central Railway (CR) would be running a record 921 special trains in various directions.Besides, a dozen trains would have additional coaches between April to June to handle the rush.

            

              A CR release said 921 summer specials, a 14 per cent jump compared to last year, would be run this season.Bookings for north-bound summer specials will start on March 11 and for south-bound trains it will start on March 13.

             The summer specials would include Varanasi (174), Gorakhpur (206), Karwar (182), Muzafarpur (26), Howrah (26), Guwahati (22), Chennai (26), Madgaon (23), Enakulum (28) and Mangalore (26).The CR would also run special summer trains between Pune to Gorakhpur via Allahabad and Pune to Ahmedabad via Kalyan and Vasai.

              All the summer specials would be in addition to the new trains announced in the budget.Tatkal reservations would also be available three days before the proposed date of journey on all the summer specials.
